Franklin NJ

Set in pristine sussex county NJ minutes from route 23, route 15, and route 80.  We are one of the premier horse boarding and training facilities in Northwestern NJ.  We are located on almost four acres of fenced in property surrounded by miles of trails for your riding pleasures. Sussex County is situated at the extreme top of New Jersey and has always been off the beaten path due to it's rural nature. It has 529 square miles with a population of 131,000. In addition, the rugged Kittatinny Mountains cut across its entire northwestern edge and the heavily-wooded New Jersey Highlands rise upward from the Kittatinny Valley in the eastern part of the county.

Training

Training

We specialize in stress free horsemanship. Meaning a stress free horse is calmer and more confident with the rider and its surroundings. We achieve this by giving proper groundwork to soften and gain respect. We can start your weanling off with haltering and leading with confidence and manners. We can start your horse under saddle at which time it will be ready to be finished. Walking, trotting, cantering, backing ,and lunging is all part of the starting process. All training is done at our facility in Hardyston, NJ.

For more information about our training and the different styles of training visit our training page.

A great many of the horses that I work with have been sent to me for retraining in problem areas. They have been neglected by earlier trainers.  I assess the areas where training is lacking in a horse and backup the horse's training to a point where it is easy for the horse to grasp what it is being asked to do.  Again, the trick is to let the horse think about what is being asked of it.  If it can't grasp something, go back to something simpler that it can do. We are very flexible and only 2 horses at a time in training so the most attention can be put toward them.
